Economics degree - Macquarie University, Australia - Nikt Wong found life in the financial markets enslaving - its lucrative financial rewards - could never match the priceless nature of personal freedom. His exposure to photography is self-taught and has over 10 years of photography experience to share.

Travel Nikt has also shot for the Spanish Embassy, a travelogue on the route of Don Quixote in central Spain. This resulted in a touring exhibition throughout Malaysia.

Photojournalism Experience Nikt has pursued human interest subjects over 10 countries throughout Asia, resulting in documentary photography work with NGO’s like the Tamil Tigers Rehabilitation Organisation (in Tamil Tiger controlled areas in Srilanka), UNHCR (Srilanka/Malaysia), MERCY Malaysia (medical aid in Iran after the Bam earthquake) and Discovery Channel (for the re-enactment of the Bali Bombing) Personal projects on human interest issues concerning Sufism in Afghanistan and India and communities in Iran and Azerbaijan brought about talks and exhibitions at The Photographers Gallery and stories sold to various publications like Marie Claire and Action Asia. His pictures have been published by The Edge, The Star, News Straits Times Group, NTV7, Bernama and Utusan. |
Photography Teaching Nikt started giving talks on photojournalism through The Photographers Gallery in Kuala Lumpur in 2005. This led to other workshop programs hosted by brands like Kodak, Sony, Nikon, and the National Art Gallery . He has also provided corporate communications training workshops for UNHCR regional officers on photojournalism. Nikt is a teaching and advisory panel member for Nikon Malaysia and conducts customised photography training workshops. |
